Q + A

What is the dress code?

We’d love to see our family and friends get dressed up for our big day! All events are cocktail attire. We ask that gentlemen wear suit or slacks and a jacket; no shorts or short sleeve shirts. Ladies may opt for cocktail dresses or jumpsuits.

Can I bring a plus one?

We have limited space and can only accommodate those listed on your invitation. Thank you for understanding!

Are children welcome?

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be primarily adults-only. If your invite includes children, they’re welcome to join us. Otherwise, we kindly ask that you join us without your children.

When should I arrive at the ceremony?

Please plan to arrive at the church ceremony at least 15 minutes prior to the ceremony start time. We recommend allowing yourself ample time to park if you are unable to walk from your hotel.

Is it an open bar?

Yes, Kenai is sponsoring the open bar. You’ll find a selection of specially selected drinks, local beer, and wine.

Is there parking at each of the wedding day venues?

We ask that you carpool as best as you can to the church ceremony. A shuttle service is provided to all wedding guests between the three wedding day locations; the shuttle service starts at the church ceremony and ends at the reception. If you are able, your hotel may be within walking distance from both venues. The Marquette Regional History Center is a quarter mile from Saint Peter Cathedral, so we ask that you carpool as best as you can if you drive; please have a designated driver if you plan to drink.

Are rideshare services available in Marquette?

Marquette does not offer Uber or Lyft. Please expect to rent a car if you are flying in for the weekend.

Where should I fly into?

There are a few options for flying into Marquette, Michigan: 1. Fly directly to Marquette - Marquette Sawyer Regional Airport (MQT): ~25 minutes from downtown 2. Fly into a nearby airport and rent a car to Marquette - Houghton County Memorial Airport (CMX): ~2 hours - Chippewa County International Airport (CIU): ~2.5 hours - Delta County Airport (ESC): ~1 hour - Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport (GRB): ~3 hours - Appleton International Airport (ATW): ~3.5 hours 3. Fly into a large, affordable airport and rent a car to Marquette - Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD): ~5.5 hours - Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW): ~6 hours - Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP): ~6 hours - Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW): ~6.5 hours

How is the drive from airports 6 hours away?

We prefer to travel this way ourselves as it is often half the price of flying directly into Marquette. On your drive, be sure to check out the beautiful scenery and watch out for deer (especially at night).
